  • Sarah Alston – chronic neck/back discomfort from arthritis in her neck.

  • Angela Alston – I have a family member (Dash Alston)  in need of prayer right now. I have never met her but I know the pain she is feeling right now. She lost an unborn child and the man she loved and intended to marry in a span of a few months. Please pray for her as you did for me. I wouldn’t wish that kind of pain on satan. It’s just too much. God. let Dash Alston find the strength of our ancestors to face the days ahead. Give her that peace that surpasses all understanding. Give her a glimpse of light at the end of the tunnel so she can find her way out of depression and despair. Thank yall in advance. Thank you God for your Grace is always sufficient.

  • Livingstone College W-S Alumni Chapter awarded three scholarships to students from W-S during Honors Convocation, and distributed exam (goody) bags to all students from W-S attending the school.
  • Men of Omega Psi Phi mentored young boys (4th & 5th grades) at North Hills Elementary school.
  • Vincia Benjamin Miller (Alumni Affairs) and Deborah Johnson (Institutional Advancement) – for their assistance with activities last week at Livingstone College.
  • UMMBC church member celebrating her 102 nd birthday tomorrow.
  • Robert Terrell Stephens – for his passion and work as co-organizer for  the upcoming HBCU Day of Action, April 27. I am proud of you young man!

  • The family of a 1-year old who was killed accidentally running into the street and another 5-year old who died from an accident recently.

  • Walkertown Seafood waitress – she asked for prayer for her mother who has lung cancer.
  • Reginald McCaskill – missing a loved one.
  • Rev. Leroy Mitchell – as he continues to recover from a stroke.

  • Marilyn White (my cousin) – who had emergency last week and is still hospitalized. She is making some improvement.

  • Pray for a friend who is experiencing a serious health issue.
  • Lisa Venable –  for her brother, Stephen Ashley (48), his wife Olivia and their son Ben! Stephen has been diagnosed with cancer in his bile duct, liver, pancreas and esophagus.
  • Marquie Smith (a former WSSU colleague) – recently hospitalized (stroke) and now in Whitaker for rehab. Continued prayers for her.
  • Chris Jones (and family) – on the passing of his mother.
  • Dietrich Spencer (a former WSSU colleague) and her family- her father, Weldon Scott Thomas, died on Wednesday. He was 93 years young, she said. A great husband, father and lover of God.
  • A young man (age 26) I met last week, who said he was incarcerated (twice), is married with two children wants help (counseling or mentoring).
  • The family of Ava Smith Peques (and her family) – Ava died Thursday morning after a fight with cancer. She was my administrative assistant during my interim stint with DSS. She had a great spirit and faith. I will remember both. Her service is today.
  • Chris Cropps – for her sister (Pat Johnson), who has been ill and is now at home recovering.
  • Pray for a friend who is undergoing treatment for lung cancer.
  • Dr. Erby Oglesby – recuperating from recent surgery.

  • Louis Smith (and his family) – this prayer request was received from Marie McCLeave: PLEASE PRAY for Dwayne Smith, son of Louis, Class of 1976 and Vanessa Smith. Dwayne is fighting for his life. He is on a ventilator in ICU at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. I need all of our PRAYER WARRIORS to pray for a miracle for this young man’s life. His wife is Angela Smith. She is a Registered Nurse and she is a fighter too. She has been by Dwayne’s side through everything. They have a 7 month old son, Maverick who needs his Daddy! Dwayne is the oldest of the three brothers. Brenton and his wife, McCall and Broderick and his fiancee, Lauren. The Smith’s are all fighters, but they need our prayers and support. PLEASE pray without ceasing.

  • For a Livingstone College classmate Emma Postell Ellis. Emma’s husband, John, was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and she is reaching out to her Livingstone family asking that we lift them up in prayer.
    The churches that have been burned in the last week in multiple locations (suspected arson) after the Charleston shooting.
  • The families of the victims of the Charleston, S.C. shooting as they continue their lives remembering their loved ones.
  • William and Shelma Scales (and family) – on the loss of his mother this week.
