Give Thanks For (Praise Reports):

  • SCAN (Stop child abuse now) Angel Tree – thanks to all who helped provide gifts to make Christmas special for children and their families.
  • Pastor Scovens and Galilee Missionary Baptist church for providing a meal for our family and another family in the waiting room (ICU) on Christmas Eve.
  • All who enjoyed Christmas day with family, friends and loved ones.
  • All of you who have responded to the call for prayer and provided assistance to those in need.
  • For the little things we all often take for granted.
  • Wil Jones (for his wife, Gwen) – she had successful hip surgery.

Please Pray:

  • Andrea Graham (Tony) – as she lost her father.
  • Pam Godwin (and family) – her husband, Gill is having a challenging time and they appreciate your prayers.
  • Stephen Hairston (for his wife and family) – she lost her mother, Mrs. Bristow, the week of Christmas.
  • Eldridge D. Alston (my father) – he remains in ICU. He has had a challenging week. He is stable, yet, has a long way to go. Your prayers are appreciated.
  • Mama Elcock who is at Forsyth in room 115 in ICU.
  • Cornelious Flood – for his sister, Mary, who will experience the Christmas Holiday without her husband Steve for the first time in 48 years.
  • Sand Lomax – continues to recuperate at home.
  • Annette Wilson’s mother (Mrs. Morgan) – she is ill (has been in ICU) and is in need of prayer.
  • North Carolina and it political leaders in the General Assembly. We have lost our way.
  • For our country – An environment of bullying, racial slurs, fear baiting, and a blatant disrespect for others has given license to some people to do the unimaginable and not care.
  • Sarah Alston – as she continues to deal with degenerative arthritis in her neck and options to remedy the condition.
  • Cedric Russell – he had a total knee replacement last week and asks for prayer.
  • Ward Miller (for his God Mother) – Mrs. Alma S. Keen transitioned last week at 105 years old.
  • The lost of life and separation of families in Aleppo.
  • Those injured and killed in Germany in the square at Christmas.
  • The family of the 5-year old boy killed by his brother (apparently an accident).
  • All who have had a difficult time during the holiday season due to a loss,

  • NC Black Repertory Company – the 16th annual production of Black Nativity was a success.
  • W-S Fellows – volunteered for Black Nativity
  • SCAN (Stop child abuse now) Angel Tree – partnering with the NC Black Repertory Company during the run of Black Nativity to make Christmas special for 25 children, infant to 17 years old. All names were taken!
  • This quote from a student (her mother shared) who attended the special school performance of Black Nativity: My husband says he HAS to see the show. My 11 year old daughter really sold it when she said, ‘I was bathed in Holy Jesus-ness!’ Her father attended a performance and came back the day after with two additional guests. Here is what he said. “Speaking honestly, I came more for myself than to support the art community: I’m only halfway through the show and I have been blessed by this show; please extend my gratitude to all of the people who contribute for using their gifts to create something so powerful and enjoyable.”
  • Danny Freeman – He is thankful for your prayers and is now at home.
  • An assignment for you to consider: Sharing a word or 10 of appreciation
  • Great fellowship and dinner with NCBRC staff after Black Nativity.
  • Jackie Alexander – successful knee surgery.

  • A successful first weekend of shows for Black Nativity, produced by the NC Black Repertory Company. Thanks to all who came out this weekend.
