  • Sand Lomax – continues to recuperate at home.
  • Joyce Williams-Green – in the hospital from a recent injury.
  • Reginald McCaskill (and family) – on the transition of his father.
  • Danny Freeman – complications from surgery (appendicitis) and acute, intense bout with Lupus. He is thankful for your prayers.
  • Tonya Smiley (and family) – for her father who is beginning Hospice.
  • Kel – waging peace as he has returned to aid refugees.
  • For our country beyond the election. An environment of bullying, racial slurs, fear baiting, and a blatant disrespect for others has given license to some people to do the unimaginable and not care.
  • Sarah Alston – as she continues to deal with degenerative arthritis in her neck.
  • Mrs. Brown (St James AME church) – being treated again for cancer.
  • Donna Durham Pierre (for her mother) – likely surgery on her back and neck.

  • Meeting with the Ministers Conference to encourage support of the NC Black Repertory Company.
  • Great message delivered by Kenneth Pettigrew at the Ministers Conference last week. Romans 8:31.
  • Working with Rich Schlentz with participants at Hanesbrands on results-focused presenting.
  • NC Literary and Historical Association honor presented to the NC Black Repertory Company for the National Black Theatre Festival.
  • 10th year anniversary for Dr. Jimmy R. Jenkins at Livingstone College – Masked Scholarship Gala.
  • Authoring Action’s Annual Taste of the South event – great evening supporting talented youth.
  • Sylvia Daugherty – read a recent column I wrote and mailed a check of support to Milton Hagins.

Please Pray:

  • Sand Lomax – continues to recuperate at home.
  • Tonya Smiley (and family) – for her father who is beginning Hospice.
  • Danny Freeman – had and emergency appendectomy and complications from the surgery.
  • Nat Irvin (and his family) – on the lost of his aunt.
  • Mary Perkins – battling pain/ health issues.
    Kel – waging peace as he has returned to aid refugees.

  • Effort Club at New Bethel Baptist Church celebrating its 92 year and 20th annual Race Progress Promoters awards.
  • Dinner with friends, Michelle and Bill Cook (thanks).
  • NCBRC Teen Theatre Ensemble (TTE) – a great discussion with the teens during their session.
  • Eldridge Alston – he remains in the hospital but is our of ICU.
  • Leading a half day retreat for the WS Urban League.
  • November 14th is a special day – Sarah and I officially met our freshman year at Livingstone College, while attending a football game (Livingstone College v. WSSU), we received a call that Sarah’s mother had died in Charlotte, and it is my grandfather’s (Johnny O. Alston) birthday (He was the wisest man I have known).

  • The family of Mildred Peppers – her service was over the weekend.
  • Rebecca Ellington – a longtime member of St. James AME Church. She was a sincere, genuine and praying woman.
  • Audrey Smith (Livingstone College classmate) – on the loss of her husband.
  • Mary Perkins – battling pain/ health issues.
  • Wilburn Jones and his wife Gwen – she is having health issues that will require surgery.
  • Chris Cropps – recovering from surgery.
  • Linda Jackson Barnes – recovering from surgery.
  • Sandra Boyette – recovering from a broken ankle.
  • Kel – waging peace and returning to aid refugees.
