  • Phyllis Price – for her daughter, Shea, who is continuing to make progress from a kidney transplant.
  • Nat Irvin II (for his father) – he broke his hip recently and is recovering from successful surgery.
  • Richard Rohr’s meditations last week: Two Halves of Live.
  • Betty Annese – continued good reports from her doctors.
  • Excellent production of The Colored Museum (A Project1Voice staged reading) by the NC Black Repertory Company.
  • Leading a leadership training for leaders at Bojangles.
  • Walker Family reunion in Gaffney, SC. A great time, good food, fellowship, and meeting new people.
  • A new friend, 10-year old Laya Norris (I met her at the family reunion).

Please Pray:

  • Linda Barnes – recovering from knee surgery.
  • Cynthia Williams – traveling to Utah to be with her daughter as she gives birth.
  • Continued prayers for a friend who is undergoing treatment for lung cancer.
    Blanche Wimberly (and family) – her husband, Kevin, died last week (he was on the prayer list)
  • Felecia Bennett-Giles – for her mother, Mrs.Bettie Bennett. She has been ill for a couple months now and is having a very difficult time. She is still grieving the lost of her husband.
  • My wife Sarah as she continues to adjust to treatment for high blood pressure and chiropractic adjustments for arthritis in her neck.
  • Kel – as he makes another journey (26 hours) to share God’s love. He asks for prayers, light and love, and positive thoughts.

  • Participating in the Men’s Fellowship breakfast at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. Willie Gilchrist (former chancellor at Elizabeth City State University), Pastor Nathan Scovens and Chad Armstrong. Great fellowship, food, and insights.
  • Phyllis Price – for her daughter, Shea, who is continuing to make progress from a kidney transplant.
  • NC Black Rep Theatre Guild board retreat follow up. Good energy and positive action.
  • Conversation with Rich Schlentz and his wife, Sarah.
  • Participating in the community meeting with the WSFC School system to determine its core values.
  • Have fun with WSSU Rams at their picnic on Saturday (great food and fellowship on a beautiful afternoon).

  • The friends and families of the victims and wounded in the senseless shooting in Orlando.
  • Prayers for the family of the young singer murdered in Orlando after performing.
  • Prayers for the family whose toddler was snatched by an alligator and died in Orlando.
  • Continued prayers for a friend who is undergoing treatment for lung cancer.
  • Blanche Wimberly (a college classmate) – her husband, Kevin, is ill and has in-home hospice care. Blanche ask for prayers that God’s will be done.
  • Monica Friday – she had surgery in April and is continuing to receive rehabilitation therapy.
  • Felecia Bennett-Giles – for her mother, Mrs.Bettie Bennett. She has been ill for a couple months now and is having a very difficult time. She is still grieving the lost of her husband.
  • Tonya Walker Smiley (and family) – they are in need of prayer. A relative is in a coma and will be taken off life support (he died shortly after this request last week). It is a difficult time and the family appreciates your prayers.

  • UNC-G scholars Dale Carnegie session 5 last week.
  • A great kick-off for Downtown Jazz with Brian Simpson.
  • Birthday celebration for Monique Smart.
  • Happy Birthday to my niece, Yaz Alston, on her 23 rd.

  • Tonya Walker Smiley (and family) – they are in need of prayer. A relative is in a coma and will be taken off life support. A 19 year old relative died in an accidental drowning recently. An uncle recently was discharged from the hospital and an aunt had a mild stroke. It is a difficult time and they request prayers.
  • Vicky McCallister (for her son, Charles Ray Fox, Jr.) – recently released from a recent hospital stay.
