  • Rev. Paul Lowe – for his mother’s recovery from a stroke. She is making some progress.

  • Lisa Venable – for her brother, Stephen Ashley (and his family) who has been diagnosed with cancer in his bile duct, liver, pancreas and esophagus.
  • Cedric Russell – for his brother (Carl Russell, Jr.) who is in ICU.

  • UMMBC 40 Days to G.R.O.W. A Journey to Easter Sermon yesterday: The Stages of spiritual growth.
  • Carl Leak – his mother had successful surgery last week
  • Black History Month performances at the NC Black Rep – Bullying and The Movement.
  • Livingstone College W-S Alumni Chapter meeting.
  • Meeting with a new coaching client.
  • Tikenya McNeil – NC Black Rep intern from WSSU.
  • Attended the performance of Joe Turner’s Come and Gone at the UNCSA (great acting).
  • Spoke to students at Jefferson Middle School in the Patriots Pals program.
  • An interesting conversation with a group of 5th graders from Oldtown Elementary School about bullying.
  • Talking with a first-grader about the performance of The Movement. We had a great conversation. She was engaged, bright-eyed and attentive.
  • Yasmeen Alston (my niece) – had a surgical procedure last week and is recovering.
  • Jarrard Goldsmith – for his son, Jadon, who was admitted to the hospital last week and is now home and doing well.
  • Betsy Annese – she had successful surgery last week and is on the path of recovery.
  • Rich Schlentz – he is engaged with a May 7th wedding date. I am happy for him.

  • Lisa Venable – for her brother, Stephen Ashley (and his family) who has been diagnosed with cancer in his bile duct, liver, pancreas and esophagus.

  • Family of a Livingstone College student (senior) Ayanna Tellis – she was killed in a car accident while traveling home to Fayetteville.
  • Deacon Otis Sellars – he is in the hospital.
  • Rev. Paul Lowe – for his mother’s recovery from a stroke a few days ago. She is regaining some mobility.
  • Curtis Brown (prayers for his family) – his funeral service was Saturday. He was a good man.
  • Ernestive Swift – recently hospitalized asks for prayer for improving her mobility.

  • Meeting with a group of community leaders interested in making an impact on community well-being and for youth.

  • UMMBC Sermon Series: A Blueprint for a Blessed New Year. The sermon yesterday: Two sides to every blessing. A key point – The power of God, the work of the people and that our work has eternal significance.

  • Warren Rich (for his sone, Josiah) – Last week he had a biopsy on his leg which came back malignant melanoma. He is having surgery on Tuesday, Feb 2, 2016. He asks for prayers: 1. That he and we would have peace through this whole situation 2. That the surgeons would find no evidence of metastasis into the lymph nodes 3. That we would see the hand of God in this and glorify Him
