  • Peggy Carter (and family) – her husband Don has been on the prayer list for several weeks. He transitioned this weekend after a short stay in Hospice.
  • Chris Costello – working through some life challenges.
  • Linda Barnes (and family) – for her father, Charley Jackson, in Jackson, Tn.
  • Louis Smith (and his family) – for Dwayne Smith, son of Louis and Vanessa, Dwayne is fighting for his life.
  • Rusty LaRue (and family) – his 19-year old son died in an accident last week.
  • Cornelious Flood – Reggie & Cheryl Hutchinson found a young man near our church (UMMBC) unconscious. Efforts are underway to help him get home to Florida.
  • Donnie Ray Littlejohn – recovering from recent back surgery.
  • Nat Irvin – for his father who was recently hospitalized.
  • Injured WSSU football player – Marquise Gaddy, recovering from an injury in practice.

  • Visiting students at Ephesus Jr. Academy and delivering their first book selection for the school year.
  • Speaking to students in the WSSU Introduction to Business class on: Self-awareness, the importance of reading and networking.
  • Meeting with Teddy Burriss and catching up.
  • Session one of the Dale Carnegie class.
  • UMMBC United Men – preparing and planning for Men’s Week in November.

  • Tony Hines – surgery to have his gallbladder removed was successful.
  • Carmen Wilder – on her new opportunity at Hood Seminary and the great job at Livingstone College (Alumni Affairs).

  • Vera Stepp – as she continues to recuperate and receive therapy.
  • Julia Hooker (and family) – on the loss of Gurney Hooker after a recent illness.
  • Peggy Carter (and family) – for her husband, Don. After much prayer and conversation they have decided to end all treatment and to move him to Palliative Care at Forysth Medical Center.
  • Linda Barnes (and family) – for her father, Charley Jackson, in Jackson, Tn.
  • Louis Smith (and his family) – for Dwayne Smith, son of Louis and Vanessa, Dwayne is fighting for his life.
  • Rev. Robert Carter – for the family of Mark Herman who died suddenly of a massive heart attack at work last week.
  • Rusty LaRue (and family) – his 19-year old son died in an accident last week.
  • Cornelious Flood – Reggie & Cheryl Hutchinson found a young man near our church (UMMBC) unconscious. They stopped and attended to him and brought him to church. He had been robbed of $200. He is now at the shelter until his estranged dad picks him up. Miller Allen sat with him and prayed with him at breakfast this morning and called me for this prayer request. His name is Devon Christensen. He was supposed to buy a train ticket with the $200 to be with relatives in Florida. He had been living on the street for several days.

  • Mildred Griffin (and family) – on the loss of her daughter, Thailia Griffin Mercer. Her service was Saturday.
  • Norman Hamilton – he has experienced some difficulty hearing recently that has not improved.
  • Louis Smith (and his family) – this prayer request was received from Marie McCLeave: PLEASE PRAY for Dwayne Smith, son of Louis, Class of 1976 and Vanessa Smith. Dwayne is fighting for his life. He is on a ventilator in ICU at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. I need all of our PRAYER WARRIORS to pray for a miracle for this young man’s life. His wife is Angela Smith. She is a Registered Nurse and she is a fighter too. She has been by Dwayne’s side through everything. They have a 7 month old son, Maverick who needs his Daddy! Dwayne is the oldest of the three brothers. Brenton and his wife, McCall and Broderick and his fiancee, Lauren. The Smith’s are all fighters, but they need our prayers and support. PLEASE pray without ceasing.
