As the Spirit of God guides you (while you are at the altar) please hold the following reminders, celebrations and concerns in your prayers:

  • All of your continued prayers for my father’s recovery are appreciated. He is making progress, getting stronger and may go home on Friday. God is able..
  • My stepmother, Shirley Perry Alston. She has been a trooper over the last three months. She has kept the faith and never wavered.
  • Debbie Daniels (invited me to speak to one of her classes) and all teachers trying to make a difference in summer school.
  • Conducted an annual “lunch & learn” for Dr. Mark Hyman and his staff in Greensboro.
  • Dale Carnegie Leadership Training for Managers conducted for a local business.
  • Coaching opportunity discussed with client.
  • Livingstone College W-S Alumni Chapter Dinner Cruise on Lake Norman
  • NBTF Hall of Fame & Museum “Preview” soft opening.
  • The Holy Spirit in the worship service yesterday at UMMBC.
  • The Stephen Ministry at UMMBC on their 3rd 13-week DivorceCare Seminar starting, 8/3. Interested participants can find out more here and register.

Please Pray

  • For a Livingstone College classmate Emma Postell Ellis. Emma’s husband, John, was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and she is reaching out to her Livingstone family asking that we lift them up in prayer.
  • Kel – as he continues is work in Bethlehem.
  • Rick Pierce – Jerry Caudle, a friend is at Chapel Hill with liver and other issues. 
  • Rick Pierce –  Sharon Stultz is having brain surgery for Parkinson’s this morning at Baptist hospital.
  • For those having fierce conversations about race, what needs to change and how to make a positive difference.
    For those who are entrenched in their ways (even with information that challenges their views) to see the light and experience “Amazing Grace.”
  • Claudette Weston (for Mary Merritt) – she had a bad fall and surgery. She is my daughter in love mother (Julian’s wife).
  • Don Carter (husband of Peggy Carter).
  • Claire Nanton (for Leon Bascus) – He is hospitalized in Canada facing chemotherapy for advance lymphoma of the lungs.
  • Denise Scott-Johnson (Vernetta Phillips Scott died last week) – her sister-in-law and Sigrid Hall’s aunt.. Please keep the Phillips and Scotts in prayer.

  • Shirley Mack Holmes (and family) – on the loss the loss of her dear mother.
  • Denise Scott-Johnson (Vernetta Phillips Scott) – her sister-in-law. Vernetta is the wife of my brother, Thomas Scott. She has a rare form of skin cancer. On last Thursday she was placed under the care of Hospice. She is also Sigrid Hall’s aunt (Sigrid’s mother’s sister). Please keep the Phillips and Scotts in prayer.
