Please Pray . . . And Give Thanks

The paradox of prayer is that it asks for a serious effort

while it can only be received as a gift.

We cannot plan, organize or manipulate God;

but without a careful discipline, we cannot receive Him either.

  • Norm Potter (for his mother-in-law Betty BairdIt who had open heart surgery after Christmas – this update on 12/27). It’s nothing short of miraculous. She ended up with 2 valve replacements and a double bypass for an 80% blockage. As an 82 year-old, we expected a tough 48 hours in ICU. She came out of surgery at 4 pm and was breathing unassisted by 10pm, off all IVs during the night and was sitting in a chair eating jello when we went to ICU this morning. She will most likely move to step down today. There is no question that God’s hand assisted a very capable surgical team! Thank you and everyone else for the prayer support. She is facing 5 days or so in-patient before returning to the mountains.

  • David Lawrence – continue to pray for David, and his family, as he takes one day at a time and anticipates a good report from his doctor.
